AP 1.4 crore smartphones Scheme: As 2019 assembly elections and Lok Sabha are approaching near, state and central government is announcing new schemes for citizens. Recently, Andhra Pradesh TDP government of Chief Minister added a new scheme in its list.

Update: No new notification or information has been passed by the AP government till today. Viewer are advise to not follow any false news and give their private information online. Andhra Government has also launched various schemes previously related to the distribution of smartphones, where it has launched schemes for distribution of smartphones to Poor, Students, Saadhikara Mitras and other population of the state.

Adding one more scheme to it, Chandra Babu Naidu Government on 13th February 2019 announced to give free smartphones to the women of self-help groups of the state.

As per the announcement, smartphones will be given to the 1.4 crore women members of the ‘Development of Women and Children in Rural Area (DWCRA) groups so that they can also avail various benefits and services provided by the government on the digital platform.

K. Vijayanand, the principal secretary of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications on 13th February 2019 announced the scheme in a press conference and added that the Andhra Pradesh Technology Service will be nodal agency for the procurement of smartphones.

How to apply for for AP smartphone scheme 2019?



Guidelines and other instructions regarding the scheme will be announced soon by the procurement committee. All the guidelines related to the distribution of smartphones will be framed by the technical committee that will be established for this particular scheme.

He also added that the internet is expected to increase the reach of various citizen services provided by the government to the common citizens. This scheme will bridge the digital gap.

The smartphone that will be provided under the scheme will come with an Android operating system, a sim with required speed, daily 50 SMS, unlimited calls, and 1 GB data. 

There are various citizen services which are provided to the common citizens of the state through various platforms such as Meeseva, E-Pragati, Yuva Nestham, Real Time Governance etc. There are already 100 mobile applications and around 900 web-services, which are providing various services to the citizens. Andhra Government has also provided a service of toll number 1100 through which people can lodge complaints regarding various issues.
