Banaras Hindu University is one of the prestigious central Universities in India. It is a public university situated at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was formerly known as Central Hindu University. It was founded 1916 under the Parliamentary legislation – B.H.U. Act 1915 by the great leader Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.

Banaras Hindu University Admission Procedure
- Admission in BHU is strictly based on the entrance test conducted by the university.
- Following exams are conducted for admission into various programs-
Undergraduate Entrance Test for admission into UG programs, Post Graduate Entrance Test for PG admissions, SCS for admission into diploma and certificate courses, Research Entrance Test for entry into Research programs (Ph.D.) and School Entrance Test (SET) for admission into BHU schools.
- The entrance examination and admission procedure for all the courses is generally carried out in the month of May/June/July every year.
- Students can apply through the online portal admission or the official website of the university.
- The application procedure for entrance test starts in the month of January/February annually.
Regular exams in BHU are conducted as semester wise. The academic system is divided into two semesters each year i.e. odd (I, III, V, VII, IX) semester and even (II, IV, VI, VIII, X) semester.
