CBSE 12th Result 2020

Before the publication of result, Board notify all the students and other individuals through a press note on its official website. Therefore, it is advised to all the students to frequently visit the official website to get all the latest updates regarding CBSE class 12th result.  

CBSE class 12th result for private and regular candidates will be published on same date through the online mode. However, there are various other methods such as SMS, IVRS, mobile apps, etc. through which result be accessed.

From 2018, CBSE has gone digital and mobile. From last few years, CBSE is hosting Board exams result on internet with the technical support and assistance of National Informatics Centre (NIC), Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India

CBSE has provided number of websites through which candidates can check their result. Class XI result for all the ten regions will be released together only through the online mode. Result will be published only through the online mode. Board will not dispatch any printed copy of result to candidates through post. They just have to check the result only through methods and facilities provided by the board.

Following the previous year trend, CBSE result for class 12 for the current year will be declared in the month of May. It is likely to release in the third week of May 2020 as said by a CBSE official.

How to access CBSE 12th Result?

CBSE has provided different online and offline means by which candidates can access class 12th result as per their convenience. The different mode for accessing result are shared below-

  • SMS

Type following text-

Cbse12 <rollno> <sch no> <centre no> and send it to mobile no. 7738299899

Once the result will be delivered successfully candidates will get their result on their mobile phones in the form of SMS.

  • IVRS

Under this facility, candidates will receive their result through an IVRS (Integrated Voice Response System). They just have dial a number of NIC (National Informatics Centre) issued by the CBSE to access the result. The IVRS nos are given below-

  • Digilocker

Digilocker (https://digilocker.gov.in) is another internet platform to access class 12th CBSE result. This facility was started in 2016 and since then it is being used as a platform to share CBSE result with the students enrolled.

Like previous years, students can also view their CBSE class 12th 2020 result. This application can be used in both mobile and PC/Laptops. Mobile application of Digilocker is available for both Android and IOS users is available. To check the result on mobile, users have to download the application and have to register.

Board will send the Digilocker account credentials to students through SMS on their registered mobile nos.

  • Official websites of respective schools

Students can also visit their respective school to know their result as all the schools affiliated to CBSE get entire school’s result on their email ID’s already registered with the Board.

  • Google Search Engine

Students can also view their result directly on the Google search engine i.e. www.google.co.in.

  • Result on Microsoft Search Engine



Just like Google, candidates can also access class 12th result on Microsoft Search Engine (https://www.bing.com). They also use SMS Organizer App on mobile and it can be downloaded from play store (https://aka.ms/sms).

  • Umang App

Just like Digilocker, candidates can also use UMANG app to view their result.

  • Result on CBSE official websites

The one of the easiest ways to check the result is through the official websites of CBSE. Board has provided various web portals through which candidates can avail their result. The three web portals on which Board will make 12 class result available are as follows-

  • www.cbse.nic.in
  • www.cbseresults.nic.in

Candidates who will access their result online will find given information on their result sheets-

  • Mode of exam (Regular/Private)

  • Mother’s name
  • Father’s name
  • Name of school (for regular students)
  • Subject name and subject code
  • Marks in theory
  • Marks in practical/ internal Assessment
  • Total marks obtained

  • Result status (Pass/ Fail/ Compartment)

Information in the online result sheet or mark sheet accept the marks and result of the students, will be mentioned as per the information furnished in the registration form by the candidates. In case of any discrepancy in the particulars, candidates are advised to contact respective school department or Board.

CBSE 12th Compartment Exam

Like Board conduct compartment exams after the declaration class 10th result it also conducts compartment exams after class 12th result announcement. Candidates who will not be able to manage to pass the exam are given a second chance to pass the year. These candidates have to pass the particular paper in which they have got compartment. In case candidates fails to pass the compartment exam then he/she has to repeat the class and an entire year will be wasted.



So, candidates who will get compartment need not to get disheartened, they just have to prepare more for the another chance. The complete notification about the compartment exams will be published later after the result by the board on its website. Compartment exams are conducted in the month of July and by the end of August 2020, students receive their result.

CBSE 12th Result statistics of 2018-

Last year Thiruvananthapuram region was at the top with highest passing percentage of 97.32%.

From the aforementioned result statistics, we can conclude that the pass percentage of girls is high than that of boys and also overall pass percentage is also increasing year by year. 2018 CBSE class 12th topper was also a girl.

CBSE Class 12th Mark Sheet 2020

The result published on the official websites is just for the purpose of information to the students. They should not treat it as the original mark sheet. Original statement of marks of the candidates will be issued later by the Board. Candidates have to collect their original mark sheet from school concerned.  

School falling under the Delhi region are advised collect their result from the office of the respective Zonal Office of the Deputy Director of Education after the publication of result. Before visiting the office, they need to confirm the time with them.

Important Instructions related to CBSE Class 12th Result

  • CBSE will announce class 12th Board result by the end of May 2020.
  • Students are given various modes to access the result. They can check their result by any mode which is available to them.  
  • Candidates or their parents should not visit Board to collect the result as it will not be made available at the Board.  


  • The online CBSE intermediate result is provisional in nature and just for information purpose. Candidates should not treat it as the original statement of marks.  
  • Original mark sheet can be collected from the respective school after the publication of result.  
  • No request for re-valuation will be entertained by the Board.  However, Board will publish the process of verification of result on its official web portal.
