HNB Garhwal University Admission 2020: HNBGU is all set to start the procedure of admission for the session 2020-2021. Interested candidates who are looking forward to take admission for UG/PG programme /courses for this session can download the application form from their website or can buy from the university itself or you can order it by post as well from the University.

Details about the procedure and availability of Application form given below:

  • Sale of Admission Forms: third week of June 2020
  • Commencement of academic session: second week of July 2020
  • Last date to submit the admission form for UG courses: first week of July 2020
  • Last date to submit the admission form for PG courses: first week of August 2020
  • Or within 20 days of declaration of entrance/qualifying test result whichever will happen later.

Note: The dates mentioned above are tentative official dates may differ from the given one.

HNB Garhwal University Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria: UG Courses

  • The following Eligibility criteria will be applicable to all the classes and applicants.
  • The applicants belonging to SC and ST will be given a 5% relaxation in admission
  • Schools of agriculture and allied sciences, sciences, earth science, and life science: 45% marks in the qualifying examination
  • Schools of arts, communication and language, commerce, education and humanities, and social sciences: 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • For admission in B.Sc. Forestry and B.Sc. Horticulture (4 years course) a candidate should have passed intermediate 10+2 examination or equivalent with maths/Biology/agriculture group from any recognized Board University.

HNB Garhwal University Admission 2020Eligibility Criteria- PG Courses

  • The following Eligibility criteria will be applicable to all the classes and applicants.
  • The applicants belonging to SC and ST will be given a 5% relaxation in admission
  • Schools of agriculture and allied sciences, sciences, earth science, and life science: 45% marks in the qualifying examination;


  • Schools of arts, communication and language, commerce, education and humanities, and social sciences: 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • For M.A Music (Vocal) – B.A with Music /Sangeet Prabhakar or Visharad with 55% marks in Practical 45% marks.
  • For M.A Music (tabla) – B.A with music Sangeet /Prabhakar or visharad with 55% marks in practical and 45% marks.
  • School of commerce For M.Com: B.com 40%, B.A/B.Sc. with Maths /Economics 50% marks.
  • For B.Ed /M.Ed/B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed admission through entrance and other eligibility criteria is as per NCTE regulation 2014.
  • For Master in social work (M.S.W) – Graduation in any discipline with 45% marks.
  • For M.A/M.Sc. Anthropology– B.A with 40% marks for general candiddates and SC/ST as per University rules or B.Sc.(Bio Group) with 45% marks for general and SC/ST as per University rules.
  • For M.Sc. (Pharmaceutical chemistry) – B.Pharm/B.Sc. 45% and 40% in case of SC/ST categories, with Chemistry as one of the subjects.

Note: Eligibility for M.A, M.Sc., M.Com and other PG classes and for the courses to which entrance examination is conducted by the university will be given in the information brochure for entrance examination 2020.

Some Important Rules of Admission:

  • Applicants who might have appeared in compartment /supplementary examination may apply for admission. However, such applicants shall be considered for admission, subject to their clearing the compartment/ supplementary examination, only if they might have submitted their admission forms well in time and if their final result might have been declared before preparing final merits list for admission.
  • Applicants in full time employment shall be considered for admission to a course/ programme of the University only after submitting a no-objection Certificate issue by their employer with sanctioning of leave for total course period.
  • For admission in B.A. LLB, LLB and LLM minimum qualification will be as per the bar council of India’s latest guideline.


  • Duly completed admission form shall be submitted in person or by registered post (in respect of undergraduate classes) to the office of the Dean of the School concerned in the case of the Birla Campus Srinagar and the office of the Director of the Campus concerned in the case of BGR Pauri.
  • Seats shall be reserved for SC/ST/OBC candidates in all courses/ programmes of the University in accordance with the Central Education Institution act 2006 of the Government of India which is 15% for SC 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC candidates. In addition 30% for women and 5% for defence personnel and or their dependents 3% for divyang and 5% for EWS and 2% for dependents of the freedom fighter.
  • Admission forms submitted by the applicants who are not granted admission by the last date for admission will be treated as canceled automatically.
  • Applicants who might have been punished for adopting unfair means in an examination or might be convicted by Court of Law for a crime committed by him/her, or might be expelled from the university or might be found indulging in ragging in the institution attended by him/her prior to seeking admission to the University shall not be granted admission in any course or programme of the university in any condition.
  • Students who are looking for admission to the programme /courses of the university shall be given weightage for participation in co-curricular activities to be restricted a maximum of 5% in accordance with details specified below:
  • NSS B-Certificate or 240 hours +two specials camps-1%;
  • NSS Ccertificate-2% participation in national Integration Camp/Republic Day Parade(national)-3%;
  • NCC cadet of the state/National Awardee-3% (maximum 3% in all);
