Update: IRCTC return whopping 1490 crores for cancellation
As the duration of the lockdown is extended due to which railway has to suspend their service till 3rd May and for this, they have to refund a whopping amount of ticket booking. As per the report, around 39 lakh tickets have been booked between 15 April to 3rd May 2020 and the amount of railway need to be returned is 660 crore. While earlier when the country was lockdown for 21 days at that time railway has returned around 830 crores.

- All passenger trains services have been cancelled until the extended duration of lockdown i.e 3rd of May 2020.
- Ticket counters for booking tickets which also includes UTS and PRS will remain closed till further notice issued regarding this.
- No facility of reservation of tickets which also includes IRCTC E-Tickets will be functional. However, the facility of online cancellation of a train ticket will remain functional.
- A full refund for the reservation will be made for the trains cancelled.
- While those who want to cancel his/her ticket, in that case also full refund is applicable.
- For train cancelled till 3rd May you will get the full refund without paying any cancellation charges, and you do not need to perform any action for ticket cancellation because tickets registered till 3rd May will be automatically cancelled and the amount will be directly credited to the account from where it is debited.

IRCTC When will train booking Re-Open?
