NVS is aimed to grant admissions to talented children coming from the rural areas of the country. Admissions in class VI and IX are made on the basis of entrance test known as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). The test is conducted every year and lakhs of candidates fill the application and appear for it. Candidates have to secure marks above than the set cut-off marks to qualify the test.
