Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya JNVST 2020 exams are on its way and candidates are busy in preparation. Lakh of candidates apply for admission but only a few thousand candidates make it to the admissions. JNVST Exam Preparation tips for class VI

Class VI syllabus includes three subjects viz. Mental Ability, Arithmetic and section, and Language Test.  Get Complete JNVST Syllabus and exam pattern from here.

Mental Ability section includes questions to test the mental functioning and thought the process of the candidates. It includes question consisting of diagrams and figures.  Student has to think wisely and have to apply logic in order to solve such questions.

Regular practice is very much helpful as it gives you ideas to approach the logical questions. Practicing mental ability questions on a regular basis can help candidates to qualify this section.

Arithmetic section-



It includes topics from mathematics that again require regular practice. Parents must help their children in providing a mock test, sample papers, and other required study material. Solving previous year arithmetic questions is very much helpful.

Language Test- This section is aimed to check the candidate’s command in English. It includes a Comprehension passage in which candidates have to answer the questions on the basis of the passage.  

Reading newspapers, books, magazines help a lot in enhancing the vocabulary and ability to answer the questions. Parents must help their children in providing good practice material so that candidates can practice well and can easily make to the selection. Strictly follow the class VIII syllabus as the question paper is based on the same syllabus. Paper consist

  • Hindi- Refer your Hindi grammar books of class VIII and also the references book and model papers. Learn the basics of grammar and thoroughly study the topics.
  • English- Read books, newspaper, magazines daily and enhance your vocabulary.
  • Mathematics- Allot maximum time to this subject if you are a week in it and practice as much as you can. More and more practice is the only key to clear the mathematics subject.
  • Science- This section includes various topics from easy to tough ones. Do not skip even a single topic. Start with the easy topics and devote more time to the topics that you feel are tough for you. If you are doing self-study without any coaching, take help of your parents, teachers, or the internet to get an understanding of the topics.

How to prepare for JNVST 2020 Entrance Exam

Candidates must keep the given preparation tips and tactics in mind while preparing for JNVST 2020-

Step 1- Go through the syllabus: Before starting preparation go through the complete syllabus and plan your study schedule accordingly.

Step 2- Make a time table:



Time management is a crucial thing that needs to be taken care while preparation and also during the exam.  Stick to the timetable, if you really want to crack the examination.

Step 3- Create a study plan: Create a study plan and dedicate at least hours to each section or subject. Two hours are Plan and allot timing to each subject as per your command in each subject.

Step 4- Make notes: Start from basics and make clear notes so that you can refer these notes during your preparation. Keep these handy notes with you so that you can use them as and when they are needed during preparation.

Step 5- Take a regular break: It is important to take regular breaks in between the preparation. Have your favorite snack, listen to your favorite music or do any of your favorite activity and freshen up your mind during the break.

Step 6- Solve previous year papers: Previous year question papers act as a guided and thus are very helpful. Solve a minimum two previous year papers and model paper each day after completing each subject.

Step 7- Revision: Once you have completed a topic/section revise the topic daily before moving forward to another topic. You can also take a test of your own in order to revise the previous topics you have studied.

Step 8- Drink plenty of water: Do not panic. Stay calm and drink plenty of water every day.

Step 9- Have a healthy diet: Do not forget to take a healthy and timely diet as it gives you a healthy mind which is necessarily needed for a fruitful preparation.

Step 10- Sleep well: Take complete rest and sleep. Along with a proper diet, a complete sleep is also important for a healthy brain and body.
