About Krishna University
The Krishna University was established in pursuance of the recommendations of the Knowledge Commission. The university was established under the Pradesh Act.No.4 of 1991, G.O’ Ms. No.89 Higher Education (U.E.II) dated 25/06/2008 and G.O Ms. No.109, Higher Education (U.E.II) department dated 14/07/2008 at Machilipatnam. This town is the headquarter of Krishna District. The foundation stone of the university was laid by then Chief Minister of the states, Dr.Y Rajasekhara Reddy. In this university, the students can get admission in various UG and PG courses. The university follows the semester system in most of the courses it offers. In the semester system, academic session runs for 6 months and after the exams are conducted. On qualifying the exam the students get promoted into next semester. So in a 3 years degree course, a student will have to take a 6-semester exam. in the same way, in 2 years course, the number of exams will be 4.
