PESSAT 2020 - Registration, Eligibility, Exam Dates, Syllabus, Pattern


PESSAT 2020 is scheduled to be conducted in the month of May 2020 (for B.Tech course) and from January to July (for other courses). Conducting authority will release the application forms in the month of October 2019. Candidates can fill the registration forms at the official website.

PESSAT (PES Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a university-level test conducted every year by PES University, Bangalore for entry into various UG and PG programs offered by the university. PESSAT 2020 exam will be conducted in online mode (except for B.Des) at 44 test centers situated across 42 cities of India.

PESSAT 2020- Eligibility

Candidates must go through the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Once a candidate has ensured that they are eligible they can fill the application form. The eligibility criterion for PESSAT 2020 is given below-

For B.Tech

  • Candidates who have completed 10+2 from a recognized board with minimum 50% with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

For BBA, BBA LLB, B.Des, BBA-HEM

  • Candidates must have qualified 10+2 with any stream from a recognized Board.
  • Minimum marks required for-

B.Des- 50%

BBA LLB- 45% for general candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates

For MBA and MCA

  • Candidates must hold a full-time graduate degree from a recognized university.
  • MBA candidates must have obtained minimum 60% in graduation. They can also apply on the basis of PGCET/CAT/MAT/CMAT scorecards.

For M.Tech



  • Applicants must hold a B.Tech/B.E degree in the respective field from a recognized University.

PESSAT 2020- Application Form

  • Candidates can apply for PESSAT 2020 only through the online mode.
  • Candidates will be able to fill the application forms the 2nd week of October 2019.
  • Candidates are required to fill all the authentic details in the application form.
  • There are 5 parts of the application forms. Applicants must fill all the details in the application form.
  • Candidates must upload a scanned copy of recent passport-sized photograph and signature as per the prescribed format.
  • Lastly candidates can take a printout of the filled-in application form for future use.
  • A candidate who will make payment through DD is required to send the printed copy of filled application form along with the DD to the given address-

PESSAT 2020- Application Fee

  • PESSAT 2020 Application for all the candidates is Rs.1050/-
  • Candidates can make payment of application fee through debit/credit card/ net banking and Demand Draft.
  • The application fee is non-refundable.
  • If candidates make payment through Demand draft, it should be drawn in the favor of “PES University General Fund” payable at Bangalore.

PESSAT 2020- Exam Pattern & Syllabus

  • PESSAT 2020 for all the courses will be conducted in an online mode (Computer-Based Test) except B.Des.
  • There will be no provision for negative marking.

Subject wise Exam pattern and syllabus is as follows-

For B.Tech

The duration of exam will be 180 minutes

For BBA/BBA-HEM

Duration- 120 minutes

For BBA, LLB

Duration- 120 minutes

For M.Tech

Duration- 120 minutes

For MBA

Duration- 120 minutes

For MCA

Duration- 120 minutes

PESSAT Syllabus

B.Des

PESSAT 2020 for admission into B.Des programs will be conducted in offline mode (Pen and paper Test). Candidates are required to bring all the essential things like pen, paper, erasers, sketching material etc with them.

B.Des questions will be based on the following topic-



Basic knowledge of colors and form, Spatial sense, Sensitivity to aspects of Typography, Freehand sketching, Basic English, Basic Analytical Ability, General Knowledge, 3D-Visualization, Ability to visualize/Imagine, Interpreting Natural Laws and Basic Engineering.

PESSAT 2020- Slot Booking

Slot booking is the process when applicants select exam date, time and center as per their preference and convenience before the exam.  PESSAT 2020 slot booking for B.Tech candidates will start from last week of April 2020 and from January first week for other courses.

PESSAT 2020- Admit card

Admit card will be generated just after the process of slot booking. Registered candidates after booking the slot can download the admit card. No admit card will be generated for those candidates will not book an exam slot.

Every candidate is required to carry his/her admit card to the exam center on exam day. Any candidate found without an admit card will be not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

PESSAT 2020- Result

PESSAT 2020 result will be released through online mode on the specified dates. B. Tech result will be declared in the month of June 2020. The result for other courses will be released after three days of the date of commencement of exam. Candidates can download their result from the official website of the university.

After the release of the result, PESSAT merit list will be released and on the basis of that candidates will be called for counseling.
