PM Ujjwala Yojana List 2020 pmuy.gov.in: Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is an initiative of the Indian Central Government to help the women living Below the Poverty Line. PMUY scheme was launched on 1st May 2016 by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. PM Ujjwala Scheme is a Central Government funded scheme launched with an aim to provide five Crore (50 million) LPG connections to BPL families of the country. Also with the LPG connections support of Rs.1600, each connection is also provided.  A budget of 8000 crores was allocated for this scheme by the government. PM Ujjwala Yojana 2020

This scheme was launched in 2016 and since then millions of poor families have been benefitted. PMUY scheme is currently active and covers 715 districts of the country. The main objective of this scheme is to provide clean fuel in the form of LPG gas connections to the BPL families not having access to clean fuel. This will empower women and also protect their health that was deteriorating due to smoke released from the unclean fuel.

is provided to the beneficiary for each new connection. Under this scheme, beneficiaries avail loan on refill or LPG Stove. Till date, the government has provided millions of connections to eligible households. Over the years, the government has also made certain changes in the scheme such as eligibility criteria for beneficiaries etc.

Initially, the identification of the eligible BPL families was made through the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC 2011) Data.

PM Ujjwala Yojana Eligibility & Selection of Beneficiary

The free LPG connection and benefits under this scheme are provided only to the candidates fulfilling the eligibility conditions.

Check the eligibility required for selection of beneficiary given below-

  • An adult woman from a poor (BPL) family without an LPG connection.
  • The age of the applicant should be more than 18 years.
  • The applicant should be a citizen of India.
  • The connection will be issued only in the name of the women of the family.
  • Applicant families should not be availing the benefit under any other similar scheme.
  • Identification of these beneficiaries will be done from SECC 2011 list or BPL households from the following seven categories viz.

– SC/ST households – Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Gramin)  – Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)  – Forest dwellers – Most Backward Classes (MBC)  – Tea and Ex-Tea Garden Tribes – People residing in river Islands

The aforementioned eligibility is as per the revised guidelines. The eligibility will be verified by the concerned authorities after application.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Documents To be Provided



Applicants have to provide all the essential documents while submitting the application form. Applications submitted without valid documents will not be considered and hence no benefit will be provided to the applicant.

The list of all the required document is given below-  

– BPL Certificate issued by the Municipality Chairman (urban region)/ Panchayat Pradhan (rural area) 

– One Photo Identity proof (Aadhaar Card or Voter ID)

– BPL Ration Card

– Aadhaar no. of all the members of the family  

– A recent passport sized photograph

– Caste Certificate

– Address Proof  

– 14 points Declaration in the prescribed format and dully signed by the applicant

– Jandhan Bank Account details/ Bank Passbook

Revision of PMUY    

The government revised the PMUY scheme in the year 2018. The government made various revisions in the guidelines of the scheme. Initially, this scheme was launched to cover five crores BPL households of the country but after revision, the government decided to cover 8 crore families till the FY 2019-2020.    

To achieve the 100% target under this scheme, the Government launched Extended Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) i.e. EPMUY and EPMUY 2 was launched with few changes in the guidelines.

PMUY Application Forms

For application and KYC, candidates have to download the respective forms available online. Application forms are available in both Hindi and English and applicants have to avail the form as per their convenience. How to Apply for PMUY Ujjawala Yojana?



Application for new gas connection under PMUY scheme can be submitted offline. As of now, no online application facility is available for citizens. However, applicants can avail the application form online from the official website of this scheme.

The complete procedure for PM Ujjwala Yojana 2020 registration is given as under-

Step 1- Application Form

An eligible woman can obtain the application form either in Hindi or English language from the nearest LPG distributor or by visiting the official website of PMUY.

Online application form can be obtained by following the simple steps given below-

  • Go to the official website i.e. https://pmuy.gov.in. 
  • Click on “Download Form” tab given on the homepage.
  • Links for all the types of forms available will appear.
  • Click on “Ujjwala Form Hindi” or (Ujjwala Form English) link as per your language preference.
  • Application form pdf will appear.
  • Download the application form pdf and take a printout of it.

Step 2- Filling details

Once applicants have obtained the application form, they have to fill the details correctly in the form. These details include-

  • Applicant’s name
  • AHL Tin No.
  • Age
  • Address
  • Date
  • Applicant’s signature etc.

Applicants can opt for EMI option for LPG stoves or first refill or both.

Step 3- Submitting Application Form

After filling the application form, applicants have to submit it at the LPG Distributor office. While submitting the application form, applicant woman also has to submit aadhaar number of all the family members of the household, Jandhan Bank Account, and detailed address.    

Step 4- Issue of LGP connection

Once the application will be submitted, processing will begin. After the verification of documents and checking the eligibility of the applicants, connections will be issued to them. These connections will be issued by the various Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).     



Those who will apply for EMI, in this case the amount of EMI will be adjusted against the amount of subsidy due to the customer/consumer on each refill.

How to check PMUY New List Free Gas?

Those who have applied for gas connection need to check the new list free gas. This list is made available on the official portal. By following the steps given below, one can check the free gas new list-  

– Go to the official website.– Click on the New list link.– The list of new beneficiaries will appear.– Check the name in the list and download the same.

Yes, swapping options are available for PMUY/EPMUY/EPMUY2 consumers- Consumers having as connection with the cylinder of 14.2 kg, can swap it to aSBC connection of 5kg and can avail refills of 5kg refills. Such consumers can also swap it back to 14.2 Kg.Apart from this, consumers having 5 kg DBCconnections can swap it to a single cylinder of 14.2 kg and vice versa. No fixed limit is there on the no. of swapping of connections.

Yes, this scheme is only available for BPL families and those who falls under the seven categories viz. SC/ST families,Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiary, Pradhan MantriAwas Yojana (PMAY) (Gramin), Most BackwardClasses (MBC), Forest dwellers, Tea and Ex-Tea Garden tribes, and People dwelling in river Islands.



For KYC of EPMUY 2 applicants need to submit the following documents- Ration Card, Aadhaar of the Applicant, and 14 point declaration as per the prescribed standard format signed by the applicant. In the case of Assam & Meghalaya, no Aadhaar is required.
