PSTET Result 2020 (Announced) Merit List PSTET Expected Cut Off Mark


PSTET Result 2020 @ pseb.ac.in: Punjab School Education Board has released the result for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test. The result has been released in the form of a merit list. The official dates of the result announcement was 23rd March 2020. PSTET result 2020 is hosted on the official portal. The candidate needs a minimum of 60% to clear the test.

The result for both the papers has been uploaded separately on the same date. No PSTET result will be sent by post or courier to any candidate. They have to download the result from the concerned portal. The result links/ pdfs will also be posted on this page for the convenience of the candidates so that they can access their results just by clicking on the links. Candidates need roll no. or registration number and password in order to access the scorecard and download it.

PSTET Result 2020

Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test (PSTET) is a state-level exam conducted every year by the Punjab State Board of Education (PSBE) for providing certification of TET (i.e. minimum qualification for appointment of as a teacher of class 1st to class 8th) to the eligible candidates of the state. The qualified candidates become eligible to apply for the post of teacher in any school of the state. Every year a large no. of aspirants appears for the exam.

The result for both the papers has been uploaded separately on the official portal. Candidates have to click on the respective result link to check it. The result pdf will carry the following information-

PSTET Cut-Off Marks 2020

While preparing the merit list, the cut-off marks or qualifying marks play an important role. The cut-off marks for PSTET have been already fixed by the board.

Only those candidates will qualify the exam who will secure 60% out of a total of 150 marks in the test. 60% is the cut-off marks all the categories of candidates in both the papers. It means candidates have to secure 60% marks in paper I and paper II individually in order to qualify the exam. 

However, concession in cut-off marks might be provided by the school management to the candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC, Differently Abled candidates etc.                       

Issue of TET Certificate       

After the publication of the PSTET result, candidates who will qualify the exam will be awarded a TET certificate. The certificates will be issued only to the successful candidates.  The certificate will contain the candidate’s name, date of birth, Registration no., year of award of a certificate, marks obtained in each Paper, Class level of the validity of the certificate (Class I to V, class VI to VIII or both), and area of the subject.



The validity of PSTET certificate will be of a maximum seven years from the date of the issue of the certificate. Candidates not satisfied with their performance in the exam can also appear again for improving his/her score. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take for the award of PTET certificate.           

PSTET Merit List 2020

PSTET Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks of the candidates in the written test. Separate merit list will be prepared for Paper I and Paper II. In order to appear in the merit list, candidates have to secure the minimum qualifying marks fixed by the concerned authority.

Candidates not securing marks as per the minimum qualifying criteria will not be able to pass the exam and hence no certificate will be issued to them. Candidates should note that TET is just an eligibility certificate and does not confer a right on a person for recruitment. It is just an eligibility criterion for the recruitment of teachers, the final appointment of a candidate is based on the decision and policies of the recruiting school.
