Speech In English

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, first of all, I wish you very Happy Republic Day. It is an important day for all the Indians. Today when a few fellow Indians talk about the fear of losing basic rights that the constitution has given us, this day becomes more important. Since childhood, we are celebrating the republic day as a national festival but we understand the importance of this day when we grow up.

Republic day is celebrated on 26th

January. On this day in 1950, the constitution of India came into effect. Our constitution gives us a few rights and a few responsibilities too. We are a democratic country. In society, we have different caste, religion or many other things that separate us but on a broader picture, we all are Indians. The beauty of our country is we have a different language and we also have conflicts and differences but on national festivals, we all stand as a united force.

Since childhood, 26th January has been a memorable day for all of us. Many of us may recall this day as a festival and celebrating it in schools by participating in culture programs or other activities. For a few of us, this is the day we get up to watch the republic day parade. The military parade starts Vijay Chowk and culminates at the Red Fort.   The weapons and the equipment that the army shows in the parade reflect the power of our arm forces.

On this day the award and medals of bravery are also given to the armed forces and to the civilians too. The main attraction for the bravery awards is the young kids who showed ultimate bravery besides being young and saved the lives of other people.  When the helicopters of the arms forces fly past the parade area and shower the rose petals on the audience everyone feels special. The program ends with the national anthem. Whether you are at home or watching the parade personally you get up to give respect to the national anthem. Its a day that makes us think beyond the caste, religion, state, language and color and we all feel the same emotion of loving our country.

Republic Day Speech for kids

Respected Principal, Teachers, and all my dear friends today I am standing in front of you to deliver a speech on Republic Day. But before doing that I would like to wish all of you who are present here a Happy Republic Day. I am so enthralled when my class teacher told me a few days back that you have been selected to deliver a speech on the 26th of January. I am excited but a bit nervous also because I never gave a speech earlier in my school life.

As you all know today we gathered here to celebrate the auspicious day of Republic day which we also knew as “Gantantra Divas” and as we all know that on this day in 1950 our full constitution came into effect but it was adopted on 26th of November 1949 under the chairmanship of our beloved Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and we all know him as a father of Indian Constitution, he is one of the greatest leaders of modern India at that time.

It’s a Gazetted holiday but all school remains open to organize such a function in their school just as we are doing. Students perform several cultural activities and sing a patriotic song to remember our freedom fighters

As our principal sir hoist, the national flag similarly, the president of India hoists the flag at Rajpath and every year they invited special chief guests from a different country.

On the eve of republic day, our president gave a speech in the name of Nation

The president of India gave some important award like Ashoka Chakra and Kirti Chakra to the soldiers of India and bravery award to the citizen of India

In every school, colleges, and in government offices we celebrate this day full of zeal and enthusiasm

But truly it was organized at Rajpath in New Delhi. Where thousands of people gathered to watch the RDC parade. The main attraction of the parade was a tableau of the selected state which showed us their tradition and you know they start their preparation six months earlier.

But when our soldiers came with their battalion and all of their arms and ammunition it was such a goosebumps moment for every Indian

And at last, when our air force fighter pilots came with their jets and create our national flag tricolor in the sky it was such a proud moment for every Indian.

It’s the day when you can hear patriotic songs every nook and corner of our street and everyone celebrates this day with brotherhood and they all distributing sweets.

When our constitution came into effect we have some common issues and still today we are also facing some common issues like cleanliness, education, unemployment, and many others but to resolve them government also launching some schemes like swatch Bharat Abhiyan, beti padhao beti Bachao, skill India, make in India and many more but we cannot depend fully on the shoulders of our government we need to do something for our country and we all must take a step to make a better and stronger Nation

We must keep the ideas which were mention in the constitution of India which are Justice to everyone, Equality, Liberty, Fraternity, and sovereignty we should not forget the ideas of our Gandhi Bapu and we need to implement their ideas in our life so that we make our nation strong.

So let’s take a pledge that we all will maintain peace and harmony and must remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters so that we can value the freedom which we got just because of their sacrifices. Before I conclude my speech I would like to say “patriotism is just like charity it must begins at home”

    !!!!Jai Hind and Vande Mataram!!!!

From 26th January 1950 onwards India has its own rules and law. It is important to celebrate Republic Day and other national festivals on the school level. When kids go to school they get curious to know more about everything. Speech For Students

Good Morning respected principal, teachers and my dear friends. My Name is…, studying in Class…, wish to give a speech on the Republic Day celebration.

On this occasion of Republic day, I would like to thank my class teacher for giving me a great opportunity to speak about the Republic Day.  Today we all gathered here to celebrate the 70th Republic Day of our Nation.

On 26th January 1950, our country got its constitution. We got our independence on 15th August 1947 but before 26th January 1950, we were following the law and rules set by the British. Since 26th January 1950, we have our own rules and law that are implemented to all the Indians.

The constitution we have today has come into existence after many debates and amendments. On 26 November 1949  the constitution drafting committee was formed and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was appointed as the chairperson of the committee. After a debate in both of the houses, the constitution came into existence and we became a republic country. Republic means that the citizen of the country holds the supreme power to elect representatives. Constitution gives all of us the same right despite any difference of religion, color, or language.

A grand celebration of Republic day is held in the Capital of India, Delhi. On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath in presence of President. The celebration starts at the gates of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President of India unfurls the National flag and addresses the nation with Republic Day speech. The prestigious awards of the country also give to martyrs and heroes from the army and civilians on this day.

Speech For Republic Day For Teacher

It is an important day for all of us but for teachers the significance of this day is a bit more. Being a teacher is a responsible job and it is not just their duty but a responsibility too to tell the students about the importance of republic day and other national festivals.

On this day cultural programs are organized in schools. The main motive to celebrate the republic day in school is to tell them about the constitution, its importance and introduce them to the mindset of our great leaders who played an important role in making and implementing the constitution of India.

In order to tell the students about 26th January, the republic day teachers are asked to deliver a speech on this day. Being a teacher you need to deliver an impressive speech and it should be informative too. So here we have compiled a speech for you. You can take help from this to deliver a great speech to your students on Republic Day.

Speech For Teacher

First of all, I would like to say thanks to the respected guest who came here to encourage us and the students despite having a busy schedule. I would like to say thanks to the principal, my colleagues and all the students who have participated in today’s program.  As we all know that today our country is celebrating ‘Republic Day’. On this day back in 1950, our constitution came into force. The constitution is like a religious book for a country and we need to give it the same respect as we give to our religious book.

As our religious books tell us on what should we do and what are the actions we should avoid, on the same way constitution of India suggests us what should we do as a citizen of the country and what are the actions we need to avoid. As we have some rules and regulations in schools in the same way we have to follow some regulations to be in this country.

Our constitution has given us a few responsibilities and a few rights too. As both rights and responsibilities come together so we are expected to fulfill the responsibility as a citizen first before claiming our rights. Like you have the right to get an education but you also carry the responsibility to be an obedient student.

Many top leaders play a prominent role in the preparation of the constitution of India. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was the chairman of the constitution drafting committee. At that time when India had many social issues like casteism and others, the constitution gave the right to equality. When the country was facing the riots and witnessed the partition on the basis of religion out constitution-makers chose to make India a republic and democratic country. We all are proud of equality we get here and it’s given to us by our constitution. So, happy republic day, celebrate this day a festival because this day India became a republic country.

Republic Day Speach in English

I am feeling so lucky that I am standing in front of you because there are so many contenders who wanted to give a speech on the auspicious day of the 26th

of January. I am not a good orator so please pardon me if I do any mistake…

I can see some faces in the crowd that is not looking so happy because they are hoping that now I am going to give them a lecture on 26th of January but you don’t need to be worry I am not going to give you any lecture on Republic Day because it’s a day of celebration, it’s a day of birth of our constitution.

But its republic day so I will put some interesting facts in front of you

Republic day! when you heard this word what was the first thing that came to your mind

Tell me honestly!

Yeah some of them are whispering holiday-holiday…

You know I still remember that day…

When I was just 10 years old and I don’t know anything about the Republic Day…

Why we celebrate it? And why it comes on the 26th of January every year…

But one thing I knew about it that it was a holiday for me too like others…

But one day on the 26th of January when I was playing outside my father calls me and asks that…

Why you didn’t go to your school today?

I said it’s a holiday… they ask me why?

I said it was a republic day…

They told me do you know what was Republic Day?

I nodded my head and said no…

Then my father told me about the day how our freedom fighter fight for our independence and so many of them sacrifice their life and then how we got independence and how our constitution was formed and how our republic day came into effect on the 26th of January 1950.

And very next year my father took me to Delhi for the RDC (Republic Day celebration) and I got to know more about it their… because visuals teach us more

And look today we are celebrating our 71st

Republic Day and to celebrate this important day we came a long way….

Does anyone know when our constitution was adopted by the Indian constituent assembly?

Anyone…!

Must be you forget it….

Ok, let me remind you once again… it was adopted on the 26th of November 1949.

Ok, do you know under whose chairmanship our full constitution was drafted?

Yes, it’s Dr. B.R Ambedkar and you know some of their friends called him Babasaheb.

Every year we celebrated the grand Republic day in New Delhi at Rajpath and a special chief guest was also invited for the day.

The event of republic day started on the arrival of President of India whom we also called the first citizen of India then our national anthem played and after that 21 gun salutes are also given in the honor but…

Do you know they didn’t fire the salutes with 21 canons instead of that they fired three times with 7 canons of Indian Army and which was known as “25 Ponders” and interestingly fired match with the national anthem

Now may I ask you something…?

Does anyone know what the previous name of Rajpath was?

Hmm seems like I had delivered a googly this time…

Rajpath previous name is “King’s Way”

And this year also India has invited Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro

Ok let me check your general knowledge now does anyone know who is our first-ever chief guest in RDC

Deep silences hmm…

Ok do not stare at me it’s President of Indonesia, Dr. Sukarno

From our childhood, I have learned that there are six fundamental rights in our constitution

Right to equality

Right to freedom

Right against exploitation

Right to freedom of religion

Cultural and educational rights

And a right to constitutional remedies

But a few years back they had added one more in the list do you know what was it?

It was right to education

We are adding the right to education but we are not able to teach our kids about our independence… our constitution

Most of them don’t know why we celebrate these days and even…

Some of them can’t differentiate republic day or Independence Day

Our ancestor fought for the independent but today’s generation don’t know anything about them

Do you know Bhagat Singh has left his home at the age of just 13 and he dies for the freedom of our country when he was just 23…?

You should ask a question to yourself have you done anything in your life for your country

We all parents need to take our children at a young age to such places where they can learn about our country especially on the Republic Day and Independence Day

So that they can tell their next generation about our country and the importance of Republic Day and Independence Day

Must tell them it’s not a holiday because someone has to pay off their life for this day

Every school and college must celebrate this day full of joy just as they celebrate their convocation… fresher party… and farewell party

So that every child must wait for this day desperately every year

Let us remain this day republic day, not a holiday

Now I have to sign off but before doing that I recall the famous quote of “Mark Twain” he said…

“Indian is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand-mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most astrictive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only”!

“We are the Indian firstly and lastly”

– By B. R Ambedkar

Jai Hind…. Vande Mataram…

India celebrates its republic day on 26th January every year. On this day the constitution of India came into force since then we are celebrating this day as ‘Republic Day’.

It is said Gantantra Diwas
